We are on a mission to make financial freedom accessible to everyone - no matter where they start
Hi, I’m Ben Jackson. If you are feeling overwhelmed by debt right now, I want you to know that I understand exactly how you feel.
Eight years ago, I was drowning in $60,000 of credit card debt after a small business failure. I was working 60-hour weeks driving for Uber and Lyft, relying on food stamps, and still couldn't keep up with the interest payments. I felt isolated, ashamed, and stuck.
I eventually discovered that bankruptcy wasn't a failure—it was a tool. But accessing it was confusing and expensive. That experience changed my life. I went to law school and co-founded Upsolve, a non-profit that has since helped over 17,000 Americans erase more than $750 million in debt.
Now, I’ve built Talk About Debt to take that mission even further.

Wealthy people talk about money constantly. They discuss debt, leverage, and business openly. That openness is a key part of how they build and maintain their wealth.
For the rest of us, money is often a taboo subject wrapped in shame. We believe that needs to change.
We believe the American Dream belongs to everyone, not just the rich. Our goal is to provide the same level of education, strategy, and access to financial tools that the wealthy use, but make them available to you for free.
The debt relief industry is full of bad actors. Too often, we see "non-profits" that are actually for-profit businesses masquerading as charities to avoid taxes and trick you into thinking they are altruistic.
We refuse to play that game.
Talk About Debt is a for-profit business, and we are proud of that. Here is exactly how it works:
